2022 is a monumental year for Rawlinsons (W.A.), it marks the 40th Anniversary of the Rawlinsons Australian Construction Handbook and 30th Anniversary of the Construction Cost Guide. The longevity of our publications is testament to the wealth of trusted information contained in each annual edition.
Such special editions required unique covers and, after brainstorming ways in which Rawlinsons can participate more in Reconciliation, the idea for our stunning covers was born.
I had been following Renee Clifton, a Nyikina/Kokatha contemporary Aboriginal Artist, for some time and was in awe of her art and talent. After contacting Renee she was on board and we commissioned two original pieces, of which the stunning originals hang in our office.
The artwork showcased on the Handbook is a reflection of Western Australia’s magnificent coastline and, as a community, how many of us enjoy the ocean and how it brings us together.

The striking artwork is a tribute to Renee’s talent and acknowledgment of her culture. Renee’s mother is from the Northern Desert of South Australia and belongs to the Kokatha People. Her father is from the Kimberley region and belongs to the Nyikina, Bardi and Nyul Nyul People.
