The City of Cockburn engaged Rawlinsons to provide quantity surveyor consultancy and documentation services to support the Henderson Waste Recovery Park Redevelopment project in Wattleup, Western Australia. The City is looking to develop a contemporary waste transfer station at the Henderson Waste Recovery Park to allow landfilling to Cells 4 and 5 of the current Park. Creating this facility will eliminate all the current issues with the existing facility and improve recycling opportunities.
The project is to be delivered in two stages with Stage 1 being bulk earthworks and Stage 2 the construction of the new Cockburn Resource Recovery Precinct.
As the awarded Cost Consultant, Rawlinsons was required to review all the documentation associated with both stages. The Stage 1 documentation level was at tender stage, and the Stage 2 documentation level was at development approval stage.
After reviewing the documentation (briefs, reports, drawings, specifications, bill of quantities, scenario costing sensitivity analysis, and cost estimates), Rawlinsons conducted a peer review report of all previous analyses and estimates, prepared a detailed cost plan for Stage 1 and Stage 2 works and provided a reconciliation report.
